The first pressure measurement device designed specifically for use during the insertion of central venous catheters. Clinical evidence suggests that  thousands of  severe injuries could be avoided every year during the insertion of central venous catheters by simply using the blood pressure to distinguish an artery from a vein.  Despite this evidence, technical challenges have limited adoption of current pressure measurement techniques.
